26 September 2011, Lidcombe: Together with the AirRoad Foundation, AirRoad employees were successful in raising over $10,000 for the Children's Cancer Institute of Australia.
In response to a challenge put forward by 'Danielle's Difference', AirRoad staff member, Therri Mitchell agreed to cut her hair to raise the funds. The hair itself was donated to the Princess Alopecia Foundation to be made into a wig for little girls suffering from alopecia. Award-winning, champion hairdresser Norman Ironside of Soignee was on site for the fundraiser.
Therri Mitchell is thrilled with the support. She says, 'I am very happy with the response from all staff members at AirRoad and our sponsors. Every little step counts in the fight against children's cancer and I am happy to see that my colleagues and teammates feel the same way".
The AirRoad Foundation is an initiative by AirRoad to give back to the community that we operate in. It makes donations to selected charities by matching any funds that have been raised by staff.
AirRoad has supported several initiatives in the past including the Variety Club of Australia NSW Bash, the Townsville to Cairns Bike Ride and many more.
