06/03/2023: Delays in Darwin due to Flooding

Update 2: March 6 2023

Dear Valued Client,

Please note the updates below for consignments in Darwin.

  • Services to and from Darwin ex Sydney and Brisbane are expected to be impacted due to the significant rain currently falling in the Mount Isa region. The Barkly Highway is also expected to close over the weekend, which will delay consignments by 2-3 days, should this eventuate.
  • Services to and from Darwin ex Perth continue to be routed via Port Augusta SA. This detour is expected to remain in the foreseeable future due to the Fitzroy Crossing Bridge requiring to be repaired/replaced.

We thank you for your patience and continued support.

Regards,

The AirRoad Team.

March 9 2023

Dear Valued Client,

Please note that goods headed to Darwin are currently being delayed due to flooding and detours.

  • Services to and from Darwin ex Sydney and Brisbane have currently been suspended due to flooding between Cloncurry and Winton. The highway has been closed for the last 24 hours, and we are unsure as to when it will re-open. Goods currently in transit are delayed. Goods picked up in Sydney and Brisbane headed to Darwin may be held till the roads have been cleared and our vehicles have returned. We will continue to monitor the situation and resume service once the roads are clear.
  • Services to and from Darwin ex Perth continue to be routed via Port Augusta SA. This detour is expected to remain in the foreseeable future due to the Fitzroy Crossing Bridge requiring to be repaired/replaced.

We thank you for your patience and continued support, as always.

With best wishes,

The AirRoad Team.
