09/03/2022: Delays in NSW due to Flooding

Update 7: March 9 2022

Dear Valued Client,

Conditions in Sydney have started to improve and floodwaters in affected areas are beginning to recede. Please note that we will attempt to service areas that we can safely access. At this stage, we do have a backlog to clear and minor delays are expected.

The situation in Ballina and Lismore remains the same as yesterday.

We thank you for your support and patience.

Regards,

The AirRoad Team.

Update 6: March 8 2022

Dear Valued Client,

Please note that we are facing significant delays in Sydney and Northern NSW due to heavy rain and flooding.

  • Sydney local: Heavy rain and flash flooding is affecting deliveries in several suburbs and evacuation orders are currently in place. This will affect our runs today and through the rest of the week. The situation continues to evolve rapidly and driver safety will be our top priority when attempting to service any affected areas.
    • Pickups/deliveries will be attempted in the affected areas listed where the roads are clear of floodwaters: Camden, Bankstown and Liverpool
    • Pickups/deliveries will not be attempted in the areas listed due to significant flooding: Wakehurst Parkway, Richmond, Windsor, and suburbs beyond McGraths Hill
  • Lismore: Please note that our Lismore depot has been flooded and that we are currently planning to operate out of another depot while clean-up is in progress. As such, delays of 2-4 weeks are expected
  • Ballina: We have resumed sending goods to our depot here and are working through a significant backlog. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide ETAs at this stage.

We appreciate your patience and thank you for your support as always.

With best wishes,

The AirRoad Team.

Update 5: March 4 2022

Dear Valued Client,

Our vehicles are now back to attempting deliveries wherever the roads are safe to access and clear of floodwaters. Please note that our Lismore depot has been flooded and that a clean-up is currently in progress. Delays of 2-4 weeks are expected in Lismore.

For the remaining areas, we anticipate minor delays due to the backlog of freight over the past few days and thank you for your patience.

Regards,

The AirRoad Team

Update 4: March 2 2022

Dear Valued Client,

Please note that in addition to Northern NSW and SE Queensland, disruptions to service are also expected in Sydney metro today and tomorrow. The forecast is for torrential rain and flash flooding to hit Sydney, Newcastle, the Illawara and South Coast, and several weather warnings are currently in place. AirRoad will be servicing these areas today, as long as the roads are clear and safe to access.

Please note that our Brisbane team are now picking up and delivering goods where it is safe to do so.

Regards,

The AirRoad Team

Update 3: March 1 2022

Dear Valued Client,

Although the rain has begun to ease in much of SE Queensland, there are major flood alerts still in place. The Brisbane river is also expected to peak later today. As such, there are no changes in our operations between yesterday and today. Our linehaul trucks heading in and out of Brisbane and into Northern NSW are also delayed.

We will monitor the situation closely and advise once pickups and deliveries resume in the affected areas.

Regards,

The AirRoad Team.

Update 2: February 28 2022

Dear Valued Client,

Please note that we are currently experiencing significant delays in Queensland and northern NSW due to heavy rainfall and flooding. The Queensland Government has issued a stay-at-home warning and our Brisbane team will not be delivering or picking up goods today.

Flooding in Northern NSW is expected to peak over the next few days and there are major delays in accessing these areas.

For now, affected regions include Bundaberg, Maryborough, Gympie, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Grafton and Northern NSW.

The safety of our staff is our top priority and our Drivers will be back on the road once it is safe to do so and they have been cleared of floodwaters. We appreciate your patience and thank you for your understanding.

Regards,

The AirRoad Team.

February 23 2022

Dear Valued Client,

We are currently facing minor delays in selected areas of metropolitan Sydney as well as the Sunshine Coast in QLD due to heavy rainfall and flash flooding. A flood watch has also been issued for the Sunshine Coast Local Government Area. The current weather conditions are expected to last well into the end of this week.

The safety of our Drivers is very important to us, and we will deliver your goods once it is safe to do so. We appreciate your patience and understanding as always.

Regards,

The AirRoad Team.
