17/10/2022: Delays in VIC and TAS Due to Flooding

20 October 2022.

Dear Valued Client,

Please note that service in Tasmania has resumed, with containers now travelling to Melbourne. Linehaul has also recommenced between Launceston and Devonport. However, we are now working through a backlog which we expect to clear by the end of this week.

In Victoria, service continues to be disrupted due to the weather. As significant rain moves across the state, many roads continue to remain closed due to flooding, fallen trees and debris. We will resume our service once conditions improve and the roads are clear. Please note that more heavy rainfall has been forecasted for the weekend in these areas.
As always, we appreciate your patience and understanding.

With best wishes,

The AirRoad Team.

14 October 2022.

Dear Valued Client,

Please note that we are currently experiencing significant delays in Victoria and Tasmania due to heavy rainfall and flooding.

Affected regions in VIC include the areas listed below:

  • Benalla
  • Rushworth
  • Rochester
  • Euroa
  • Elmore
  • Strathfieldaye
  • Parts of Huntly
  • Colbinabbin
  • Lockington
  • Heathcote
  • Carrisbrook
  • Parts of Maldon
  • Parts of Castlemaine
  • Bridgewater
  • Inglewood
  • Wedderburn
  • Charlton
  • Whycheproof

Please note that the list above is not exhaustive, as conditions continue to change rapidly.

In Tasmania, our team is holding any containers being returned to Melbourne till Monday. Linehaul services between Devonport and Launceston have been affected and are operating at a reduced capacity. Port activities have also been suspended due to the rising flood risk of the Mersey river. Delays over the next week are expected.

The safety of our staff is our top priority and our drivers will be back on the road once it is safe to do so. We appreciate your patience and thank you for your understanding.

Regards,

The AirRoad Team.
